NUN2SNES

A main feature of the Wii Remote is its motion sensing capability, which allows the user to interact with and manipulate items on screen.

It was the goal of this project to bring a small piece of this awesome idea in the world of NES (Nintendo Entertainment System), SNES (Super Nintendo Entertainment System) and the E/Uzebox (which uses SNES game controllers too).

In this page you will find a description for such an interface - called NUN2SNES.

operation modes

Mode 1 - game pad emulation with acceleration sensors: the interface emulates the funtionality of a standard SNES game pad. You can simulate the function of the direction keys by swinging the Nunchuk to left, right, forward and backwards. The both buttons of the Nunchuk emulate button A and B of the SNES game pad. The little joystick on the top of the Nunchuck will emulate the button START (up), SELECT (down), shoulder LEFT (left) and shoulder RIGHT (right).

The LED of the interface is allways on in this operation mode. Use this operation mode for all SNES games without mouse support. Also availabe for NES.

The LED of the interface is switch off shortly all 2 sec in this operation mode. Use this operation mode for all SNES games without mouse support. Also availabe for NES.

Mode 3 - mouse emulation with acceleration sensors: In this operation mode the interface will emulate a SNES mouse. The LED of the interface will blink with (ca. 1Hz) in this operation mode.

Mode 4 - mouse emulation with  joystick: In this operation mode the interface will emulate a SNES mouse by using the joystick in the top of the Nunchuk.
